Frequently Asked Question
While you can also pay for your reservation on the website with prepaid cards or wallets (e.g., Visa Electron/Postepay/Apple Pay/Google Pay and similar), at the time of rental, a credit card (with the cardholder's name and numbers embossed) provided by one of the major credit card companies (e.g., Visa, American Express, MasterCard) is required as a guarantee for the rental. The card must be in the name of the rental contract holder, who must also be the primary driver of the rental vehicle.
Rent.it uses external banking gateways such as Stripe and Axerve for payments. We are therefore not aware of the payment method used by the customer. The use of a payment card on these gateways is therefore not in any way linked to the type of card required by the rental company to sign the contract.
When the vehicle is rented to you, the rental company pre-authorizes your credit card (but does not collect) the security deposit.
This deposit is released at the end of the rental period with the cancellation of the pre-authorization or, in the event of damage or theft of the vehicle, collected according to the deductibles set forth in the rental conditions.
In some cases, you may choose to rent with a prepaid card or debit card. For details, see this guide:
